As the first joint venture between the streaming service and The Pokémon Company, Pokémon Concierge makes its worldwide debut on December 28, 2023. A fresh concierge named Haru helps the seasoned staff take care of the Pokémon in this charming anime. Along with learning how to keep her customers pleased, she embarks on a voyage filled with friendship, self-discovery, and adventure.

Dwarf Studios reimagined the classic Pokémon franchise with groundbreaking stop-motion animation for the new tale.

Artist Tadahiro Uesugi, who won an Annie Award for his work on the Pokémon Resort concept and on the human characters Haru and others, aimed to inject some unexpectedness into the Pokémon universe. “Primarily, we aimed for individuals to view it and remark, ‘That looks fun.'” he continues.


With 30 different facial expressions for Haru to use, the production crew made sure that every human character could exhibit a wide spectrum of emotions, adding depth to the series.

The movements of each Pokémon and human character were carefully considered by director Iku Ogawa. This included Psyduck’s waddling and Haru’s jogging. The script’s characters were fine-tuned, allowing him to bring the fantastical world to life.

Fans of the Pokémon entertainment franchise will enjoy seeing familiar Pokémon design elements scattered around the resort. “We made sure to incorporate details into the background so that there’s always something new to discover,” remarks Ogawa. “I really hope you’ll just keep watching it.”
