Welcomes Anime Icon Eren Yeager for Exclusive Interview
A first-of-its-kind interview will air on Japan’s premier national broadcaster NHK’s flagship documentary series “The Professionals.” The forthcoming episode, aptly dubbed “Eren Yeager Special,” will deviate from the norm by bringing Eren Yeager, the protagonist of the popular anime series “Attack on Titan,” into the real world for a one-of-a-kind interview. On October 23, 2023, at 11:45 p.m., a broadcast of this landmark episode will take place.
The highly anticipated “Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 – Part 2,” which will air on NHK on November 4, 2023, has inspired the organization of this one-of-a-kind event. Please note that Eren Yeager himself, and not his voice actor Yuki Kaji, will be the subject of this interview.
Although we’ll be deviating from our typical fare, the underlying message of the documentary will remain the same. This interview will explore Eren’s work ethic and motives as a Survey Corps member, as well as his own ideas on what it means to be a “professional.”
According to a statement posted to NHK’s website, “The anime ‘Attack on Titan,’ which depicts the relentless struggle between mankind and titans, is gearing up for its final episode, the second part of the final season (November 5). In anticipation of this monumental event, ‘Professional: The Way of Work’ will give readers a comprehensive profile of the protagonist, Eren Yeager. We plan to investigate the ‘work style’ of a man who has consistently gone against the orders of the Survey Corps. For what, exactly, is Eren fighting? “And what does ‘professionalism’ mean to Eren?”
It’s important to note that MAPPA is animating the last season of “Attack on Titan,” with many of the same voice actors and animators returning for their roles.
From September 2009 to April 2021, Kodansha’s monthly shonen manga magazine Bessatsu Shonen Magazine serialized “Attack on Titan,” an adaptation of Hajime Isayama’s original Japanese manga series. There are a total of 34 tankbon volumes in the series, and on April 30, 2024, a new 18-page bonus manga named “Bad Boys” will be released. The ‘first and final’ art book for “Attack on Titan,” titled “Attack on Titan Fly,” is also due out soon.
